A Journey of Discovery
The Tempest Gin embodies the dramatic nature of the Cape of Storms and the abundance of the richest floral kingdom on earth. Grape spirit and hand-harvested, seasonal, fynbos botanicals are infused and distilled to reflect each unique season.
The name is derived from the latin term tempus meaning time & season and tempestas meaning a violent windstorm frequently accompanied by rain, snow or hail.

The Tempest Gin — Autumn
This citrus-forward gin bursts open with nostalgic naartjie peel notes underpinned by subtle juniper and distinct herbal aromas. Wild Rosemary (Eriocephalus africanus L.) reminds of pine and lemon-thyme while the African Wormwood (Artemisia afra) provides an earthiness to the nose.
Buchu (Agathosma) aromas evoke the sensation of walking through a dry veldt. Sweet, full-bodied, and balanced, this soft gin speaks of superior quality.

The Tempest Gin — Winter
A change of seasons brings the woody and fragrant Wild Rosemary (Eriocephalus africanus L.) notes to the forefront in the Winter edition. As if mirroring the Cape's Winter rainfall, the Wormwood (Artemisia afra) botanical brings depth into its earthiness reminiscent of rich potting soil — whereas its Autumn counterpart reminded more of a dry veld anticipating the first rain of the season.
The overall impression is fresh with a distinct herbal note brought about by the combination of Citrus Buchu (Agathosma) and Confetti Bush (Coleonema calycinum).

The Tempest Gin — Summer
Waxed citrus peel with a fresh pillow of Cape Fynbos herbs and a light Juniper undertone. The delicate balance between fresh fruit and savoury earth components evokes the sensation of walking through a dry veldt or an afternoon game drive on the Savanna plains. Sweet, full-bodied and balanced, this smooth gin speaks of African sunsets and refined craft Gin.
The freshly-harvested botanicals and slight contact with French oak barrels give the gin its pale-yellow straw appearance.
