About Plaisir Wine Estate
Plaisir Wine Estate is one of South Africa's oldest and most celebrated wine farms, located in Simondium in the Cape Winelands, between Paarl and Franschhoek. Established in 1693, the estate sits at the foot of the Simonsberg mountain and produces wines shaped by decomposed granite soils, Atlantic Ocean breezes, and over 330 years of uninterrupted winemaking heritage.
Plaisir offers three distinct wine ranges. The Grand Plaisir range represents the pinnacle of the estate, featuring a flagship Chardonnay and a Bordeaux red blend of exceptional depth and complexity. The Méthode Cap Classique range includes a Brut, Brut Rosé, and Nectar, all crafted for celebration and everyday enjoyment. The Estate range offers approachable, terroir-driven wines including a Chenin Blanc, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and a Bordeaux red blend.
Plaisir wines are ideal for wine lovers seeking premium South African wine, Cape Winelands wine experiences, Franschhoek wine tasting, Simonsberg terroir wines, or gifts for wine enthusiasts. The estate is open Monday to Sunday, 8am to 5pm, and offers wine tastings, accommodation, farm trails, and food experiences.
For visitors searching for the best wine farms near Cape Town, the best Chardonnay in the Western Cape, top Cabernet Sauvignon in South Africa, or a Méthode Cap Classique for a special occasion, Plaisir Wine Estate is a destination of exceptional quality, heritage, and natural beauty.
