Platter’s by Diners Club

Plaisir de Merle’s Signature Blend was awarded 5 stars and crowned “Red Wine Blend of the Year, Cape Bordeaux” in the 2019 Platter’s by Diner’s Club South African Wine Guide.

Our Signature Blend is a special release celebrating the 20th anniversary of talented Niel Bester as our cellar master.

This special blend represents his passion, dedication and intimate knowledge of the terroir and reflects Plaisir de Merle’s rich soil types, micro-climate in fynbos integrated cascading vineyards.

We had another proud moment at the 2018 International Wine and Spirits Competition where the Plaisir de Merle Shiraz 2016 walked away with gold. This full-bodied wine has layers of sweet, ripe, dark red fruit and spicy and smoky oak lingering in the background.

Wine Label Design Award

A stellar moment marked our rich history at the 2019 Wine Label Design Awards where the Plaisir de Merle Signature Blend 2012 was crowned with gold. The winning design imparts new depth to the Signature concept and further ties our cellar master, Niel Bester to the wine. It reflects his passion and dedication. This already highly regarded wine is a true collector’s item.
