In support of South Africa’s wine industry and in celebration of Heritage Day, Dr Peter will host a live tasting of Plaisir de Merle’s Cabernet Sauvignon which was matured in French oak barrels, of which 60% new wood, for 12 to 16 months.

About Plaisir de Merle’s Terroir
One of the largest wine farms in the Western Cape, Plaisir is situated at the foot of the Simonsberg Mountain’s east-facing slopes between Paarl and Franschhoek, covering more than 900 hectares. The area’s diverse terroir experiences an interchange of climatic conditions which allows for wet winters and warm summers. The slopes have well-drained weathered granite soils (predominantly Tukulu and Hutton) with excellent water retention, slowly releasing enough water during the growing season to optimally ripen the grapes.
